I replaced the factory CD player in my 2004 Civic with this one and I love it. I bought a reburbished model on Amazon because it was priced as low as some of the other models I looked at. I was primarily looking for auxiliary input, but at this price, I figured I might as well try a CD player with HD Radio tuner built in. I bought this JVC for the price because at this price there is no way you'll get a HD Radio. Installation was a breeze (Note: get your vehicle's wiring diagram before installation this will save you so much time). Sound is great the bass is a little toned down compared to my other sony xplod but the sound is much clearer and crisper you get more sound detail/ quality. I almost gave it 4 stars because it's a little ugly IMHO but I knew that when I bought it and I'm more of a function over form guy anyway. Very customizable, JVC does a good job with EQ, the deck sounds decent right out of the box with several EQ presets, and for the geeks like me it has a fully adjustable 7 band EQ (the vendor description says 3, it's WRONG) and an independently controlled rear preamp output with crossover adjustment ...more

It plays "home made" cd's very well. I compared it to the Sony and the JVC was a winner hands down. The ipod cable is run to my glove box - so no one knows I am listening to my ipod in my truck. It even charges your ipod while you are driving down the road. The remote is very small and easy to use. It's easier to program and operate than it at first looked and I love the dual mode of ipod control (from the stereo or the ipod). The only thing keeping it from perfect is that the display and clock are sometimes difficult to read during the daytime.
