Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-08-29 Summary: Very Good Portable Weather Radio ... This is a very good weather radio which, in all but one feature, improves on previous Oregon Scientific weather radios. The improvements are that it is easier to program this radio for local conditions even if you do not know the SAME code for your location. This makes the radio far more functional as a true portable weather radio than prior versions. It also provides a scrolling display of the various warnings that are in effect in your location. Finally, it can run on both rechargeable and standard batteries, so ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-08-09 Summary: good product! ... This is probably one of the best NOAA weather radios. What I really liked about it is that all of the counties in the US and other US islands are already programed into it so that you dont have to enter a S.A.M.E code. This is a pretty good product overall! ...more

[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-07-21 Summary: Very clear reception ... This radio has very clear reception even though I am in a grounded Aluminum sided house. This radio beats my cheap NOAA radio hands down. I would buy again. A point to make: I leave my radio on alert mode which will remain silent until a NOAA alert is comming across the radio. This will take some getting use to as many of the NOAA alerts happen at night after bed time but I personally feel better about being woken up for safety then otherwise. Remember to program your SAME codes. This radio makes it easy to do. ...more

[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-10-01 Summary: Surprise! SURPISE! Surprise! ... Was in the market for a basic wireless WX station and after reading the many reviews for both WMR100 (1st gen) and WMR100N (2nd gen) here and elsewhere, I pulled the trigger. For a buck fiddie, I figured it was worth the gamble. I like to keep my expectation bar low so based on the reviews squared with law of averages multiplied by Murphy's I figured the station would: 1. Show up in a week to 10 days 2. Have at least 2 dead sensors 3. Be extremely frustrating to set up 4. Not interface with Weather Display 5. Be impossible ...more

Once you get the NOAA WRS codes for your area (or any area to which you are traveling)from the INTERNET it is a hands off system that works. The first time it went off at 1:00 AM it startled me awake even though it was in another room. The only con is that it doesn't recharge batteries when plugged in. [2] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-05-27 Summary: Good radio, not so good manual ... I purchased one of these because of the frequent severe weather we were having. In addition, I travel often, and wanted something that could go with me and get weather alerts in the areas I visit regularly. The receiver went into alarm twice on the first day, alerting me to a weather event in my own county and in the one immediately adjacent to mine. So I am very satisfied with its performance. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the instructions in the owner's manual are not correct for programming ...more
